Looking for base locations

As the locations page tells us, player characters in this game will be housed in several bases located all around the globe. We need your input - suggest what kind of locations would make a good base! We are not asking you to make up locations, but to use existing ones that are established in canons you or other people have app'ed (or plan to app) into the game. In particular we are looking for:

-A location in North America
-A location in Japan
-Possibly a location in space, around Earth (but not too far away from it)
-Possibly a space ship that is capable of travel between the others

If you have any suggestions, please respond to this post. We are really interested in your input here.

We're looking for something more specific than a whole city. To give an example - the NERV headquarters, if we had Evangelion.

If Pacific Rim is going to be featuring as a canon, then how about the Shatterdomes of the Pan-Pacific Defense Corp? Big voluminous spaces that put Nasa's vehicle assembly buildings to shame.

In the movie, they were several of these bases scattered around the world: the ones we saw in detail were located in Anchorage and Hong Kong, respectively.

But seriously, SOMEWHERE IN NEV- I'll stop myself and outright offer M.I.T. for America.

Akihabara was already used for the UG game, so no need to rehash that... How about the Nerima prefecture?

Maybe the Ark once Transformers starts up, the location is pretty much in the American Southwest apparently.

Metroplex is capable of space flight as well so he can count as a ship once he comes in storywise.

Also as Cole said, the Shatterdome and the Anchorage base.

If Josh and/or Merry get in, may I suggest Treasure Island off the coast of San Francisco? It's a former military base, which helps...

It's possible that we may establish a base there after Bliss Stage plot starts and it turns out people are still alive and fighting in the San Francisco area. However for the same reason (read: no one thinks anyone is left alive out there) it's not a suitable location for a base at the start of the game.

For space, I'm thinking maybe a Unity Group space station or somesuch at the L1 lagrange point between Earth and the moon.

Miskatonic is a fun place that won't eat us all.
Anchorage seems fitting in that it's not a government-specific base, as well.
